A dangerous substance is a product that, when used, is potentially harmful to people or the environment. Improper use of dangerous substances may lead to very serious consequences. The damage can affect persons' health causing poisoning and irritation, but it can also include life, explosion or soil pollution.
MODULE OBJECTIVES
After completing this module, participants will be aware of:
- what is a dangerous substance and in what forms a dangerous substance can be found
- the different classes of dangerous substances in the human body
- the possible effects of exposure to a dangerous substance
- the possible procedures to follow in order to avoid or limit exposure to the dangerous substance
- the permissible limit values for dangerous substances
- how to recognize a dangerous substance
