Every day throughout the world, various types of radiation are used in a wide range of applications - industrial, medical research and communications. Although these applications bring real benefits to people, some can create potentially harmful exposure risks that must be effectively controlled. This module covers operational safety issues that expose or could expose workers, the public, or both to radiation.
MODULE OBJECTIVES
After completing this module, the participant will be aware of:
- what radiation is and its forms
- in which places or activities ionizing and non-ionizing radiation can be found
- the risks of the use of radiation
- the conditions of the use of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation
