Module 11
Lifting an hoisting operations are one of the major causes of fatalities and serious incidents. This module is based on current experience and best practice for preventing such incidents. The number and severity of injuries may be greatly reduced by preparing and planning for lifting, and practicing safe lifting and handling techniques.
MODULE OBJECTIVES
After completing this module, participants will be aware of:
- the risks associated with the use of lifting equipment at work
- the preventive measures to be taken in working with lifting equipment
- the different types of hoisting tools
- the risks and preventive measures to be taken in working with hoisting tools
- the risks associated with pallet trucks and the preventive measures o be taken
- the risks associated with forklift trucks and the preventive measures to be taken
